For this project, I made a travel organizer that can fold! I made my product out of duck tape to give it a cute design while making it easy to use. I made it by putting pockets onto the sheet of duct tape. I'm not really sure how I really came up with the idea but when we got assigned this project I new I wanted to do some kind of organizer that can be easy to use. I also thought that I know it would come in handy if I was going to travel so that's what I was going to do. I really like the way it turned out in the end and how the pockets and pencil holders hold nicely together and even the colors look good.
Down below is my final project and my process!

I started my project by sketching my design on a paper. Then I traced it onto the linoleum block. After that, I cut out the design on my linoleum block with a cutting tool and putting chatter in the background. Then I chose a light blue by mixing dark blue and white. After that, I put the ink on a metal tray and rolled over it with a brayer (roller). Then I stamped the block in the ink and pressed it on the paper. One of the harder parts was getting the stamp to have enough ink to get the design to show. I also number all the prints I did in fractions (1/10, 2/10). But overall I really liked how it looked at the end.
For the future reflection project, I chose to do me sitting in the crowd watching the 2016 Rio Olympics. I probably wouldn't see the the Olympics in 2016 but maybe one of the next ones. The mirror pose I chose is showing half my face behind the mirror. There isn't really a reason why I chose that but I think it looks best that way. One of the challenges I faced when I was working, was getting the right shade to make things look realistic. But overall I really liked how it turned out.I decided to base my project off this this heart tree. The way I made it original is I made the background black and the trunk of the tree white so I could make the hearts pop really easily. The picture on the left is the original and the picture on the left is the first trunk sketch I made. I then made the final which is the bottom one by cutting out hearts out of magazines. I learned that making artwork takes time and that you can get frustrated but if you really get into it you appreciate the work you have made.
Doug Reynolds makes pottery and other types of art. He also teaches art to students. He has an art studio in Waverly where her creates his pottery and sells it. Each year he shows and sells his work at art festivals. I learned that you use lots of different of tools to do different things. I also learned that you have to wedge it a lot before you start and that you can cut the clay with fishing line
I learned that art isn't always drawing on paper or painting a picture. You can also incorporate nature with art and make amazing artwork. I really enjoyed seeing all the artwork he made and seeing how original he makes it. I feel most proud the way my presentation looked at the end with all the different bubbles of information. Andy Goldsworthy inspired so many people (including myself) to think outside the box and let nature speak to you and do something great.
